Tomorrow is the first day of March, and if you’ve been following along, (you have been following along, haven’t you??) you’ll know that this year I’m gifting myself twelve good habits. In January, I gifted my family a healthy eating habit. In February, I gifted us organization. (And I tackled one closet and the junk drawer. The second closet is still a project!) For March, I’m gifting all of us the good habit of happiness.
Happiness? A habit? Isn’t it just something you feel? Yes. And no.
We are inundated with a lot of negativity in our daily lives. The news wants you to see what went wrong. Because that makes for good ratings. What are social media posts filled with? Bitching. Complaining. Pointing out everything that’s wrong with our lives.
Look. I understand that there are a lot of “not great” things happening in the world on a daily basis. And quite frankly, I’m tired of it. And I’m tired of it affecting how I feel each day. You really have to put in the effort to be happy each day. You have to make the conscious choice of happiness. And to share happiness with others.
I will not let anger consume me. I do not invite negativity into my life.
I say that to myself in the mornings. I don’t watch the news when I wake up or go to sleep. I avoid certain friends’ postings on Facebook because I’m not going to allow myself to be part of their anger. I focus myself toward the positive. Because that’s where I want to be. That’s where I see myself.
So, for March, I am going to post 31 happy posts on our Facebook page each day. Maybe more. Maybe I’ll share a link to something positive. Maybe I’ll post a joke. A silly picture. Kittens and Puppies. People doing good things. Whatever it is, it will be positive. I hope it will make you happy. Stop by each day and make it a habit to find some happiness. I’m going to use the hashtag #behappy in each post so you can find them easily.
Share some happiness with others. Post on our Facebook page some fun, good, silly, happy, positive things that we can all enjoy and focus on.
Frankie and Andrea take turns sharing stories. Just good talk over a cup of coffee.
