“In every job that must be done,
There is an element of fun.
You find the fun, and snap!
The job’s a game.
And every task you undertake
Becomes a piece of cake.”
Well, I (Andrea) don’t know if there is fun in every job (apparently Mary never had to clean a toilet or scoop out a litter box!), but I do know that once you find the positive attitude to start a task, that task becomes so much easier and the outcome is much more successful.
Last Friday our high school football team started off their season by playing at the University of Michigan’s Big House. It was a great weekend event for several high school teams around the state, and also a fantastic fundraiser for the #ChadTough Foundation.
Our team was ready to win. They stepped onto the field a positive attitude. The kickoff happened. We kicked and the other team received - almost. It was fumbled and we recovered. A few seconds later we scored the first touchdown of the game.
The team wasn’t out on the field thinking I hope we win. The coaches didn’t tell them you can try to win. They came out there believing they would win. They visualized it happening. And they took every opportunity afforded to them to make it happen. And yes, they won. (28-7 - Go Wolves!)
If you want to be successful, you have to start with a positive attitude. You have to believe in yourself and you have to believe you are going to succeed. Any job you do starts long before you actually start doing it. If you wake up in the morning and start thinking how much you dread the job, and how tired your are, and how boring everything is - that’s exactly the day you’re going to have. But if you wake with a positive attitude, with a goal in mind and a “make it happen” mindset, you’ll be more successful and have an amazingly productive day.
Tomorrow morning, wake up and say to yourself: I’m going to have a great day. I’m going to achieve something. I’m ready to make it happen!
Frankie and Andrea take turns sharing stories. Just good talk over a cup of coffee.
