We may have already talked about this, but I feel like it's worth mentioning again. I (Frankie) take time every day to do something for myself. I didn't used to do this and since I've started, I can tell a world of difference in my happiness and stress level.
You don't have to take hours out of the day. If you're like me it doesn't take much to make you happy. It's the little things, right? For me, I do a couple of things. The first thing I do for me every day is walk. I've told you guys before that at this point I don't walk for physical reasons, I walk because it keeps me sane. I take 45 minutes every morning before most of the world is out and about and I walk. And it is an amazingly peaceful time for me. That morning walk is all for me.
At night I do one of two things for myself. I either watch a show that I've recorded that is one of my favorites (right now it is American Horror Story), or I read. Sometimes I do both. I watch a show while we have supper and then I read right before I go to sleep. Those things are for me and they relax me. And that's the point.
Maybe you don't have that much time, but I'm urging you right now to MAKE time every day to do something that is just for you; something that relaxes you and makes you happy. I promise that after about a week of doing this every day you will start seeing a major difference in your mood. You'll be happier and less stressed and that's good for everyone, because like they say, if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
