No matter if you're currently working from home for yourself or going to a job and work for others. You still are working with people and you always want to do your best for them, for your team, for your business. (Because you doing your best is a reflection of the type of person you are, even if the task itself isn't exciting.) One of the best ways you can do your best for others is by helping them to understand how you work, what you'll need from them, and what the general expectations are.
For example, what if you do a lot of data entry for someone, and they send you the information all times of the day, throughout the week, faxed (yes, faxed) on scraps of paper they've been writing down. This could take you a very long time to get that all organized each day. What you could do is tell that someone that you've created a form that they just need to fill out by 3pm every day with all the info, and you'll be able to have all their data done within the hour. One fax. Or better, one spreadsheet. Or email. Or whatever.
Teach people how you work best so that you can do the best for them and be the best for yourself.
