A while ago our local high school football team got to play at the Big House in Ann Arbor. While I was sitting there enjoying the game, and watching our team win, I noticed a woman a few rows down from us. She had on a pink t-shirt, and I don’t know what was on the front, but the message on the back read:
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
I don’t know who came up with that quote (it’s falsely attributed to Winston Churchill) but that struck me, as I sat there on those bleachers that day. We constantly focus on money and “building wealth” but our lives are actually being built by what we do with them and what we offer to the rest of world.
So, what are you doing here, as you read this short post? What are you giving to build your life? What talent do you have to offer the world? When are you going to make the leap to working from home and working for yourself? When will you stop making a living and start making a life?
What’s next for you? Let us know in the comments below.
