2017 is a few days away. Are you ready for it? Are you ready to get focused and start onto a pathway of success and positivity? What are you planning on doing in the new year to make your life better for yourself? To make it healthier, happier, more peaceful?
Goal setting is important. Crucial, really. If you don’t have a goal, you have nothing to strive for. And if you don’t have anything to strive for, you don’t have motivation to do anything. And if you don’t have motivation to do anything, well, you do nothing. And nothing changes. We need a set of goals in front of us to continually measure our successes and discover where we need to add more effort. If you’re ready to make a change in your life and start discovering a way you can make a successful life working from home, think about what you’d like to achieve next year and start making a plan to make it happen. Here are three suggestions to get you started on your work from home journey for 2017. Goal #1 - Discover Yourself Figure out what it is you want to do. This isn’t something to jump into lightly. It’s important to know what it is you’d like to be doing and if you can actually do it over and over again. You might like the idea of being a mini cupcake baker, but perhaps after you’ve baked your 50th dozen, the excitement has worn off and you’re left bored and unfulfilled. Goal #2 - Prepare Yourself You cannot (well, you should not) wake up January 1 and say “I am quitting my job and I will start a business where I can work from home.” This is not a path to success. Sure, you might feel extra motivated because now you have no money coming in at all, but the stress from trying to earn a living immediately that matches your previous income will undoubtedly make things awful for you and your family. You need to schedule a time to ramp up, a time to transition. You need to understand when the timing is right to walk away from one job into another. Goal #3 - Believe in Yourself Starting your own thing working from home is hard. Plain and simple. And you will probably run into a lot of naysayers. But you can’t let them affect you. Learn how to believe in yourself and trust in your actions. Yes, you will make mistakes, but they will be your mistakes based on your own choices and you will learn from them. They will make you more confident. They will make you more successful.
