That picture up there is my (Andrea’s) laptop keyboard. Every month or so I take a white marker (which is currently MIA at this point!) and I have to write in the letters again. And then I take some clear coat nail polish and paint over them to make it all last a little bit longer.
My laptop gets used. A lot. Daily. Hourly. Sometimes I think I get up in the middle of the night and sleep type. LOL. But I wanted to share this with you for one reason. Everything you buy is only helpful to you if you use it.
If you work from home, you need a home office of sorts. And you’ll want to go out and get your nice desk, nice chair, laptop, head set, software, printer, scanner, phone line, supplies, etc. That’s all well and good, but if you don’t actually use these things, they are of no good to you. They are paperweights.
If you’re a baker and your pans and oven are shiny, brand new clean, you are not baking enough. If you are a fitness coach and your treadmill has an inch of dust, your yoga mat is still in the wrapper and you’re growing a little extra “something” around your mid-section, then you are not coaching enough.
The tools you use for your business should be used for your business. Otherwise, what’s the point of having them?
Maybe I’ll try stickers next for my keyboard. Or maybe I just need a whole new keyboard. :) Whatever happens, I’ll still be using it. It’ll still get worn out. And it’ll keep telling me that I’ve been putting in the effort for my businesses.
Frankie and Andrea take turns sharing stories. Just good talk over a cup of coffee.
